#1: Users are yearning for new types of content
People are hungry for bigger, more detailed, more interesting, more interactive pieces of content than ever before. This goes hand in hand with Twitter’s decline: the once supreme source for online information, with its tiny, textual updates, is no longer as relevant as it used to be.
#2: Live streaming will become more popular
With better internet connections and mobility everywhere, Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and SnapChat are betting strongly towards hosting live product briefings, tutorials, tours, events and much more.

With users wanting richer content, it is only natural that the rise of audiovisual content will continue in 2017. The key to taking advantage of this is, of course, sharing useful content with your target audience and focusing on your brand story, which leads us to the next point.
#4: Storytelling will be central to content marketing
Audiences are already used to brands offering them content and they are growing tired of updates just for content’s sake. This is where storytelling comes in hand: you need to offer valuable and real brand stories to your audience, which will drive engagement much more than just your regular “Happy Friday” Facebook update. The rising popularity of ad blockers and traditional online advertising methods are making it harder to reach people. Instead, content marketing will continue to rise and it is no coincidence that this type of marketing actually gives value to your audience rather than pushing them to go get your product.

There are lots of tools for automating posts and aggregating data to give you useful key metrics and performance graphs. If you aren’t using any yet, maybe you could give them a try: they will free up some of your time, which you can use for improving your marketing strategy, for instance.
#9: Technology wearables will become more popular
It’s never too early to think about how you can integrate these new gadgets into your marketing. Think about your own industry, but take into consideration that particularly in health and fitness, wearable tech is a great way to collect and track consumer data which can come in handy to improve your marketing.
#10: Predictive intelligence will be developing
